Catherine Claydon

Mae Catherine Claydon wedi bod yn Gynghorydd Tref yr Wyddgrug ers 2022 ac ar hyn o bryd mae’n cadeirio’r Pwyllgor Datblygu Cymunedol ac Adfywio. Gyda chefndir mewn Adnoddau Dynol yn Airbus a gradd mewn Arweinyddiaeth a Rheolaeth, mae Catherine yn dod â chyfoeth o brofiad proffesiynol i’w gwaith cymunedol.

Fel Cyfarwyddwr Cittaslow UK, mae Catherine yn hyrwyddo byw’n gynaliadwy a lles cymunedol, gan eirioli dros ddulliau ystyriol a hirdymor o ddatblygu trefol a gwledig. Mae hefyd yn gwbl ymroddedig i addysg, gan wasanaethu fel llywodraethwr ysgol mewn ysgol cyfrwng Cymraeg ac yn gefnogwraig frwd i amlieithrwydd yn y rhanbarth.

Yn ogystal â’i rôl gyda Cittaslow UK, mae Catherine yn llais cryf dros hawliau menywod, ar ôl gwasanaethu fel Swyddog Menywod Llafur Clwyd Dwyrain. Mae’n aelod gweithgar o Grŵp Lleihau Plastig yr Wyddgrug, gan arwain ymdrechion i hyrwyddo gweithredu amgylcheddol a lleihau gwastraff yn lleol.

Mae Catherine yn falch o gael ei chymeradwyo gan Labour Business, UNISON Labour Link ac Undeb y Gweithwyr Cyfathrebu (CWU) am ei hymrwymiad parhaus i gymunedau tecach a gwyrddach. Mae ei gwaith gyda busnesau annibynnol yn yr Wyddgrug yn ganolog i’w gweledigaeth o economi leol ffyniannus a gwydn—gan gefnogi sefydliadau lleol a thynnu sylw at bwysigrwydd cefnogi busnesau lleol.

Mae Catherine yn angerddol dros adeiladu cymunedau lle mae gan bawb y cyfle i ffynnu—drwy bolisïau teg, gofal am yr amgylchedd, a ffocws ar degwch cymdeithasol.

Catherine Claydon has been a Mold Town Councillor since 2022 and currently chairs the Community Development & Regeneration Committee. With a background in HR at Airbus and a degree in Leadership and Management, Catherine brings a wealth of professional expertise to her community work.

As Director of Cittaslow UK, Catherine champions sustainable living and community wellbeing, advocating for thoughtful, long-term approaches to urban and rural development. She is also deeply committed to education, serving as a school governor at a Welsh-medium school and supporting multilingualism in the region.

In addition to her role with Cittaslow UK, Catherine is a strong voice for women’s rights, having served as the Women’s Officer for Clwyd East Labour. She is an active member of the Mold Plastic Reduction Group, leading efforts to promote environmental action and reduce waste locally.

Catherine is proud to be endorsed by Labour Business, UNISON Labour Link, and the Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) for her ongoing commitment to fairer, greener communities. Her work with independent businesses in Mold is central to her vision of a thriving, resilient local economy—supporting local organisations and highlighting the importance of localised economic growth.

Catherine is passionate about building communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive—through fair policies, environmental stewardship, and a focus on social equity.
